Monaco X Holiday X Fun

With an outstanding Mediterranean coastline and bounded on all other sides by the spectacular mountain landscapes of the Provence-Alpes-Cotes D'Azur region of Southern France, Monaco is a country that can not only boast an enviable climate - the coolest temperatures falling only as low as around 8°C during January and February - but also an incredible diversity of both unspoilt natural and stylish urban environments all tastefully crammed into what can only be described as a relatively small, but perfectly formed, space.

The pristine beaches of Monaco are framed by rugged cliffs rising up to over 60 metres above sea level, and with the highest point achieving around 141 metres, it's easy to imagine the mighty Alps towering over the countryside just a few miles further inland. With a wealth of dramatic scenery on your doorstep that is as much a part of the unique identity of Monaco as the prestige and glamour associated with a country that has such enormous international kudos when it comes to sport, culture and money, even if a yearning to be at one with nature threatens to overcome a secret desire to spend an entire vacation in the world famous Monte Carlo Casino, a little bit of both can be enjoyed without ever having to travel further than your feet can easily carry you!

Being the second smallest independent state in the world, the Principality of Monaco occupies an area of land measuring only 1.96 sq kms, but despite its petite demeanour, everything else about Monaco is large, including its number of inhabitants, which at a whopping 32,000 people - give or take a few hundred - makes it the most densely populated country on the planet, although when the rate of income tax stands at a big fat zero, you could rent a holiday apartment in Monaco and find yourself next door to one of the many millionaires that have made this idyllic tax haven their permanent place of residence.

Where you're guaranteed to rub shoulders with at least one movie star, fashion designer, Formula One racing driver or other kind of global celebrity in any of the chic boutiques, trendy restaurants, opera houses, museums, theatres or casinos in Monaco, holiday apartments in Monte Carlo or Monaco-Ville are often chosen by those who crave the opportunity to sample just a small taste of the champagne lifestyles enjoyed by the rich and famous. But in a country that can let you experience fabulous weather and exquisite natural beauty at the same time as opulence and decadence, this is one location that was custom-made entirely for a special kind of vacation.
